Salary: £12.83 per hour
We’re recruiting a Children’s Support Worker on behalf of one of the UK’s largest independent providers in neuro and mental healthcare, in Stockton-on-Tees! This service is a specialist longer-term service for children and young people with a diagnosed Learning Disability and who display challenging behaviour as a result. The service offers intensive levels of support and care to help the young people we care for develop social and life skills.
The client encourage their young people to attend school or college during their stay, wherever possible, and to join them on fun day trips out to theme parks, the seaside or wherever their interests lie!
You will have an opportunity to learn whilst you work, after probation you will be working towards Level 4 Diploma in Residential child care.

What you’ll be working:
- Days and Nights
- Every other weekend
- Rota shifts
- Working towards Level 4 Diploma in Residential child care
What you’ll be doing:
- Build relationships with children and young people
- Establish methods of communication with children and young people, reducing barriers when necessary
- Assist children and young people with mealtimes where necessary
- Support with activities of daily living and personal care when needed
- Communicate any issues to the on shift team leader or management
- Accurately report and/or record work activities
What you’ll have:
- A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible for our young people
- NVQ 3 or equivalent in Childcare
- Should have lived in the UK for 3 years
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Minimum experience of 9 months in the child care
- Experience working within the Child care sector / Autism/ LD
